  • Having a Voice is… #1
The first edition of Having a Voice is… was made in 24 hours, just like its successor. In the life of zine-maker Jo, voice plays a big role, as she is a singer and a teacher, which you can see in this zine:
An exploration of what it means to have a voice, both literally and figuratively, with questions to think about and activities you can do too. Topics including: Feminism and voice / women in Shakespeare / Mansplaining / Voice in the body / Voice idols including Carol Gilligan and Arianna Huffington…

  • Having a Voice is… #2
In the second issue Jo explores more topics related to voice:
An exploration of what it means to have a voice, both literally and figuratively, with questions to think about and activities you can do too. In this second issue, topics include: Mindfulness / multiple intelligences / what comes between me and my voice / voice idols / free-writing and other tips to connect / making tea…

  • i saw you did you see me? *paris in the 2nd person*
    IMG_2470web
The most recent zine of Jo, containing various stories taking place in Paris. It was also made during a 24 hour zine day:
“When you’re in a big city it’s easy to see new things and meet new people. But how do your surroundings see you? In this short story zine, different parts of the city speak back through the voices of characters ranging from a doll to a waiter to a Brazilian street drummer… The only question is: who did they see and who is telling the truth anyway?”

  • Hiver. Mon zine-journal
Cathou’s zine is personal and poetic, hand-written with collages and drawings in between the text:
“”Hiver. Mon zine-journal” is a compilation of things I wrote and drew during the winter 2014-2015. I put them together/in perspective and expanded my thoughts and creative process during the 24h zine event in Brussels. Mostly in French and partly in English, this diary is the story of the introspective journey of a fat dyke reflecting on her past, her participation to a photo project, her desires and her sadness. An effort to glue together parts of my experience and to see myself as a whole emerges through the pages. It is my first zine although I took part to some collective projects before.”

  • Home
Home is Aurore’s first zine and was made during the first edition of 24 Hour Zine Thing. It questions what “home” means to her:
“a very simple and personal zine. It depicts diverse aspects I have experienced of the question: “what is home?”. I have carried this question with me for many years and it was evident to write my first zine ever on this – even though it was sometimes a bit painful. The zine was created entirely during a 24 hour zine challenge.”

  • Storylines
IMG_2464webAurore’s second zine, again made in 24 hours, filled with fiction this time:
“I have really enjoyed creating this zine – format and content-wise! The zine contains various short stories and poetry, the inspiration of which coming from badly drawing actual pictures of myself. These bad copies actually created new characters I could then write the stories of. This zine was created during a 24 hour zine challenge and I very much look forward creating a #2!”

  • This is what I know
Gudrun’s first zine, made during 24 Hour Zine Thing in the summer  of 2014, very feminist and very radical:
“Made in 24 hours during a 24hZineChallenge this zine is all about anger. If you’re into radical feminism, this will be straight up your alley.”

  • The Revolution will be self-published
Gudrun mixes comics and perzines in this zine:
“This semi-autobiographicatal zine deals mainly with mental health issues. It’s the first installment in a series of zines that are highly personal, with almost diary-like entrees. The second part, titled ‘still in search for a way to heal my many broken hearts’ is also out. Both zines share an eclectic, shattered, all-over-the-place style. But somehow it all ties together.”
